Profile.

My name is Kevin A. Sesarianto. I am an IR PhD student at Universitas Indonesia. I am writing on K-pop fandom's digital activism, understanding how the fandom interrogates and negotiates its capitalist and Western cultural hegemony-complying origin.

Doing a PhD is a mentally numbing torture. It doesn't stem from the impossibility of the topic and research design; it is the impossibility of satisfying my supervisors' moving-goalposts demands.

I am also an assistant professor at Institut Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Jakarta. My students have high hopes for themselves, at the cost of my patience.

Life is hard and full of stressors. Apart from the two, mine consist of love, relationship, friendship, and family. Grand questions about religion, morality, and sexuality also baffle me more often than not. Writing them is a coping mechanism, however futile it might be.
